Alyssa Finlay

Creative Director

Alyssa graduated with a Diploma of Finished Art from the Preston College of TAFE (now Northern Metropolitan) in Melbourne in 1989. Her final folio won the prestigious “Gold Folio” award for the top student in the State.

Her career began with the noted design studios Malpass & Burrows and Flett, Henderson & Arnold in Melbourne,  before she moved into advertising with agencies including Ogilivy & Mather and Clifton, Court, Smith, Ogilvy & Mather, where she was studio manager responsible for the timely production of all artwork and the supervision of all pre-press and printing for clients in the rural, retail and service sectors.

After a break to start a family, Alyssa joined Artifact Pty Ltd as a designer and production manager, providing design, traffic and production management skills and was responsible for ensuring that all projects met their deadlines and budgets.

Alyssa is Creative Director of Artifact Design Group, responsible for all design, artwork and production together with client service and supplier liaison and management.

Alyssa is a professional member of the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA).

Murray Finlay

Director / Account Service

Murray has more than 35 years’ experience encompassing all aspects of marketing communications, from journalism and public relations, through corporate marketing to advertising and graphic communications.

His career began as a journalist with The Herald in Melbourne and other newspapers in Fiji and Adelaide before moving into public relations as a consultant with International Public Relations in Melbourne.

He gained experience on the other side of the fence when he became “the client” – Marketing Communications Manager with computer and related services supplier Control Data Australia – developing and co-ordinating external communications – both directly by preparing all company media releases and position papers, and through advertising and PR agencies – and generating all internal communications for the company in Australia and New Zealand. His was a vital voice in formulating the company’s US driven international communications strategy.

From there he moved into advertising, as an account director and copywriter, before taking up account service/management roles with leading graphic design consultancies. He established his own company, 113 Communications Pty Ltd, in 1990.

He has provided marketing communications services to various State and Federal government departments and to companies involved in, among others, the computing, engineering, motor sport, executive recruiting, education, pharmaceuticals, health and consumer diagnostics sectors.
As well as copywriting and desk-top publishing skills, he provides personalised and accountable client service and account management and co-ordinates a network of first-class suppliers to provide high-quality marketing communications services to a diverse range of clients.
